Review: Avatar is not the next Star Wars or Lord of the Rings he could be the next Matrix, though. Or, perhaps more accurately, the next Matrix Revolutions. His technically innovative craftsmanship set to work on a story that was played after Return of the King. There are a lot of bad guys, a bunch of good people, and sooner or later they all went to meet the battlefield. The small details are not as shocking matter, because nothing could stop, or change, in fact, not even to comment on the future of this unstoppable trend story.Its films. Evil Corporation is parked on the distant planet Pandora, mining the planet of all its precious minerals. The native population, large blue humanoid named Navi, Arent very happy with it. The company hired to create avatars of scientists Navi bodies being controlled by a human brain, a Navi that communicate ... they better move to be demolished by the evil Colonel Qautrich (Stephen Lang). Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) hoisted on Pandora because his twin brother, who had an Avatar specifically made for it, is dead. The coincidence is obvious plot, so that we have a newcomer to Pandora to share our sense of wonder. Oh, and he is paralyzed, then running in his new alien body is very liberating for him.I do not feel like I need to continue with the description of the plot. You know whatll happen. Have you seen Dances with Wolves and The Last Samurai. Heck, even The Dead Man Navi represent nature, the (all-American) corporation is a destructive technology. Quatrich have a southern accent and say things like, we must fight terror with terror. The Navi are clones of Native Americans - filtered through the imagination of a white liberal. Your question really obvious.The, of course, is whether or Noo your fun. Well ... times. Sure it looks good. Some sequences - especially those with winged animals - is eye-popping. Lang makes a fun villain. Pandora is more derivative than original, it reminded me more of Skull Island in Peter Jackson's King Kong. All monsters have a plastic-y look to them that makes them feel very well made. The 3D is a distraction at times, and I had a headache before the film was there over.But scenes and individual pictures that come with the ethereal beauty. Worth seeing why, but I dont think itll be so funny after multiple viewings. The great thing about Star Wars was the characters: Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and so on. They incorporated the story of another world, with the weight of effects.In 32 years, I do not think anyone will remember Jake Sully. 6/10 |
