Review: Red October has done for modern submarines, which he has done for Das Boot World War II. It took a concept that is impossible for most people who live in (submarines from people who try to blow) and brought it up close. The resulting tension and excitement for this type of movie is always great fun and this film delivers a compelling novel nicely.Tom Clancys converts well on the big screen. Clancy is a master of creating improbable stories of international intrigue seems plausible. This is the story of a Soviet sub commander who tried to flee the United States, adds a unique touch on the tension usually associated with submarine films.John McTiernan, who is building a great reputation in the genre of action / adventure was a great job as a director. The film focuses less on the submarine and its crew of his cousin Das Boot, both in terms of international intrigue. McTiernan is very effective in maintaining the momentum and gives the viewer a riveting suspense sandwiches as intelligent torpedoes chase through dark deep.As always, Sean Connery was as powerful as captain of desertion, determined not to let a first strike weapon to start a nuclear holocaust. Connery has given its nature is consciousness and absolute commitment, stopping at nothing to achieve your goal.Alec Baldwin turns in one of his best performances as Jack Ryan. Unlike Harrison Ford, who made Ryan a hero in other adaptations of Tom Clancy, Baldwin looked better cast loser CIA, which has been dragged into the situation on the ground, without any real experience. In this way, he felt better representation of the character as originally written Clancy him. This film is a very fun and addictive that will keep most of the action and suspense of viewers on the edge of their seats. I rated 9/10.
